What these numbers mean — and what they don't

Lifetime per-weapon damage and kill totals read from the banner trackers of tracked ladder players. Players choose which trackers to equip, so tracking share measures adoption within the tracked population — not pick rate, and not win rate. A weapon a player never equipped a tracker for is unknown, not zero, and values accumulate over an account's lifetime rather than per patch. The two counters are separate trackers that either can be equipped alone, so the damage and kill totals describe different sets of players and are never divided into each other.

This is deliberately not a "weapon meta" pick-rate table: no per-match loadout data exists for Apex, here or anywhere else. What top-ladder players choose to showcase — and the mastery totals behind it — is the honest signal the game actually exposes. A weapon a player never equipped a tracker for is unknown, not zero.

Damage per kill is measured only across the players who track BOTH of a weapon's counters. Damage and kills are separate banner trackers and either can be equipped alone, so dividing everyone's damage by everyone's kills would divide one set of players by a different one — the answer would move with the relative size of the two groups rather than with the weapon. It is still a population ratio (their summed damage over their summed kills), not a median of per-player ratios, which would be dominated by whoever has the fewest kills. The rank filter is the holder's rank NOW, not when the mastery was earned; these are lifetime counters and the game exposes no per-season split of them.
